On 29th October 1791, following The Catholic Relief Act of 1791, a Roman Catholic Chapel was formally registered in Birtley.
On 18th August 1843 St Joseph's Church, Birtley, was opened.  To read about the Parish History in full, click the link above.

There has been a change to the Sunday Mass Times in St Joseph's commencing over the weekend of 26/27 May 2018.

Revised Mass Times will be:

SATURDAY (VIGIL) MASS : 6.00pm

SUNDAY MORNING MASS :10.00am
